Champion of Champions set for oval track thriller

A line-up of V8 sprint cars is set to thrill at the annual Champion of Champions on 20 December at the ZCBF Showgrounds in Richards Bay

Mark your diaries for Sunday, 20 December for a date at the Silver Fox Security Raceway at the ZCBF Showgrounds in Richards Bay.

The annual Champion of Champions event will boom with the thundering noise of the V8 sprint cars.

With over 900hp of V8 Chevrolet engines powering these purpose-built sprint car chassis, the competition is bound to be intense.

No fewer than 12 V8 sprint machines will be in the Bay: Charlise Carlson, Shane Carlson, Mark Taljaard, Elosie Buitendach, JP Taljaard, Diego Neto, Micheal Myburgh, Charles Carlson SNR, Pieter Hamman, Jean Neto, Marcel Berry and Stanley Hodkenson.

Meanwhile, Seef Fourie Jnr and Deon Beukman are set to join the Hotrod grid on a programme that includes ¼ midgets, stockrods, 1660 saloons, 2.1 modifieds, 2l hotrods, hotrods and sprint Ccars.

Gates open at 8am and admission to the ground is R150 adults, R60 children. Racing starts at 6pm.
