RICHARDS Bay-based hip-hop group the ‘Hurricanez’ will be representing Zululand at the provincial uShaka Marine Star Search competition in Durban on 28 September.
The group scooped first place and outperformed all competing Zululand artists in the hip-hop category at the regional competition held at the Richards Bay Khula Art Centre last week.
Last month they set the stage on fire and wowed the audience when they performed live with award winning hip-hop artist Zakwe at the same venue.
‘We are honoured to be representing our region at this prestigious event and will make everyone proud,’ said the Richards Bay group.
The Durban show will include winners from all KwaZulu-Natal districts who will battle it out for the R300 000 Vodacom contract prize.
