Chill time with the Chameleon

Chris Chameleon will perform in Richards Bay.

There is some top-class entertainment around the corner for Zululanders.

Top act Chris Chameleon will entertain at the Three Cities Imvubu Lodge’s ICC Hall in Richards Bay on Sunday, 14 September at 6.30pm for 7pm.

His show, ‘Drie Vriende’, includes young and hot poet, Daniella Deysel, to present work from his new 2014 album ‘Posduif’ (carrier pigeon), as well as ‘doef-doef’ scalliwag Sarel Fourie who will provide humour, seriousness and soul music.

Chameleon rose to stardom as a young actor in 1989, winning South Africa’s largest national acting competition. He has appeared in more than 20 television series and was the lead vocalist and bassist for the band Blue Chameleon until their breakup in 1995.

At the end of 1997, he fronted one of South Africa’s best musical exports, the monki punk band Boo! They split up in 2004 and Chris decided to go solo.

His meteoric rise as a solo artist began with the album, ‘Ek Herhaal Jou’. This Afrikaans album became a best seller. In June 2006, Chris released his first English rock album, ‘Shine’ and a second Afrikaans album, ‘7 de Hemel’. Both Afrikaans albums had reached gold status by July 2006 with ‘7 de Hemel’ reaching platinum status a month later.

Tickets to the show cost R200 per person and includes a snack platter and welcome drink. To book call Simone on 035 7534122 or emailbm@imvubulodge.co.za
