Here are the South African Traditional Music Achievers Award winners.

THE countries top musicians were honoured during the South African Traditional Achievements Awards at the University of Zululand (Unizulu) in KwaDlangezwa on Friday and Saturday.

Here are some of the SATMA Awards winners:

Best Poet – Phindile- The poet

Best Indigenous Poet – Tsoro

Best isiXhosa – Butho Vuthela (Emasimini kuyaphilwa vol1)

Best SesTswana – Diragammu Cultural group (Mahikeng)

Best isiSwati – Make Shelangubo (Ngilele Ebaleni)

Best Indian – Flash Entertainers (Nagara touch and chutney hits)

Best Sesotho – Phoka le Moketa (Lipooho tsa Borhabela)

Best Boeremusiek – Hans Bothma (Langarm boerejol)

Best Maskandi – Amageza Amahle (Ithende lemicimbi)

Best Vernecular Hip hop – Zakwe (Reverse ft Duncan)

Rapper Zwakwe won the Best Hip Hop Award
Rapper Zakwe won the Best Hip Hop Award

Best song of the year – Osaziwayo (Iphupho).

Best Mbhaqanga Album – Sandil Khwele
