WATCH: Would you know what to do if your child stopped breathing?

2,000 people said finding their baby unconscious is their biggest fear - but only one in four would know what to do.

A NEW video could help save an infant’s life, as it shows parents how to carry out CPR if their child stops breathing.

It comes after a poll of 2,000 people said finding their baby unconscious is their biggest fear – but only one in four would know what to do.

The video, created by St John’s Ambulance, urges parents to call an ambulance immediately – unless they are on their own, in which case they should do one minute of CPR before calling for help.

They should cover their baby’s nose and mouth with their lips and give five puffs, each lasting around a second.

Then, they should use two fingers in the centre of the chest to give 30 pumps at a rate of 100 to 120 per minute.

The sequence should be repeated with two puffs and 30 pumps until help arrives.

The humorous video shows memory nursery rhyme characters such as Incy Wincy Spider, Humpty Dumpty, Jack & Jill, and the Cat & the Fiddle – and is voiced by comedians Adam Buxton and Tim Key.

The characters are brainstorming for words that rhyme with ‘ambulance’ at ‘Nursery Rhymes Inc’, but eventually give up.

They sing a catchy jingle, which will help parents remember what to do: ‘Puff, puff and 30 more pumps… repeat this until the ambulance comes.’
