Local charity hosts Christmas lunch for Bay senior citizens

Gracious Givers Community Development NPO hosts Christmas lunch for Brackenham seniors.

Honouring the seniors in the community on the Day of Reconciliation, local charity organisation Gracious Givers Community Development NPO hosted a special senior citizens’ entertainment programme and Christmas lunch at Brackenham hall.

The event also incorporated a children’s fun day for youngsters under the age of 12; a programme filled with messages of encouragement, dance and song items as well a visit from Father Christmas.

Organisation founder Mandy Michael said Gracious Givers is committed to uplifting and supporting the community through various projects, feeding schemes and programmes to empower the communities, support women and children, and stand firmly against GBV.

“We sincerely thank and acknowledge Councillor Ray Govender, with whom we work closely in serving our community. Together, we are committed to uplifting and supporting our people.

“As we celebrate our senior citizens, the pillars of our families and the foundation of our community, we acknowledge their wisdom, guidance and sacrifices, and thank them for their contribution to our community.

“As we enter the festive season, we pray for good health and peace, and thank all our volunteers, donors and supporters for assisting us at every event.”
