Melomed Richards Bay on Saturday hosted a successful Pregnancy Awareness Day at Empangeni Country Club, bringing together expectant mothers, families, healthcare professionals, and community partners for an informative and engaging wellness event.
The event formed part of Melomed Richards Bay’s ongoing commitment to maternal and child health education, providing a supportive platform for mothers-to-be to gain practical knowledge and expert guidance throughout their pregnancy journey and beyond.
The hospital’s resident obstetrician, gynaecologist and paediatrician led insightful sessions covering key topics related to antenatal care, safe pregnancy practices, childbirth preparation, and post-delivery care for both mother and baby.
Emphasis was placed on early antenatal booking, recognising warning signs during pregnancy, newborn care, breastfeeding, immunisations, and maternal well-being after delivery. Attendees were encouraged to ask questions and engage openly, creating a relaxed and empowering learning environment.
The Pregnancy Awareness Day was further enriched by the presence of valued exhibitors and partners, who showcased a range of products and services supporting maternal and child health.
