Kwa-Thema Netball Team hosts soup kitchen to thank community supporters
The initiative was held to thank community members for their ongoing support and encourage youth participation in sport.
Kwa-Thema – The Kwa-Thema Netball Team hosted a soup kitchen drive at the Mehlomakhulu Netball Ground on July 4 as a gesture of appreciation to community members for their continued support and encouragement.
The initiative brought together residents, players and supporters, highlighting the strong relationship between the team and the community it serves.
According to team coach Lebohang Bangani, the club has continued to grow and thrive thanks to the community’s support.
“We highly appreciate the support from the community.
“We are looking forward to welcoming more young people between the ages of six and 16 to join the club as we are committed to building a better tomorrow for Kwa-Thema’s youth,” said Bangani.

She encouraged community members to continue working together to create a positive environment for young people.
“We urge our community to hold hands and support one another. Together we can do better.
“Through sport and community involvement, challenges such as drug abuse, alcohol abuse and teenage pregnancy can be defeated and prevented from overpowering our children,” she added.
Bangani said the club remains dedicated to providing young people with opportunities to develop their sporting talents while promoting discipline, teamwork and healthy lifestyles.
The team hopes to attract more young players and continue using sport as a tool to empower and uplift the youth of Kwa-Thema.
