Duduza entrepreneur empowers young creatives through Kids Sip and Print Experience

Mabontle Mphuti is using fashion, design and printing workshops to nurture creativity, confidence and entrepreneurial skills among children.

Duduza – Duduza entrepreneur and creative Mabontle Mphuti hosted a Kids Sip and Print Experience at Picanha Restaurant in Nigel on July 4, offering children from Kwatsaduza a hands-on introduction to fashion, design and printing.

The workshop allowed children to design, style and customise their own T-shirts while learning about colour, creativity and self-expression in a fun and interactive environment.

Mphuti’s workshop allowed learners to explore technological designs, art and use creative platforms to unleash their creativity.

The experience allowed learners to use different types of creative machinery and objects. She said the initiative is about much more than creating artwork on clothing.

“The workshop is designed to inspire young minds and encourage children to explore their creativity.

“They get to design, style and creatively use colour on their own clothes. This is a form of art incorporated into clothing design,” she said.

Through her business, CEO Fashions, Mphuti aims to empower young people by exposing them to the creative industry and introducing them to opportunities in fashion, printing and entrepreneurship.

She explained that the Kids Sip and Print Experience was created to bridge the gap for children who have limited access to creative and practical learning opportunities outside the classroom.

“I believe that by creating an innovative programme, children will be better equipped to excel in the outside world.

“Design workshops play a vital role across various fields, including product design, service design, business strategy and user experience design,” she said.

According to Mphuti, the programme encourages self-expression, collaboration, critical thinking, confidence and practical skills while exposing participants to industries they may one day pursue as careers.

She said the workshop is an investment in the next generation of designers, artists and entrepreneurs by giving children a platform to develop their talents and express their unique ideas.

The programme targets children between the ages of seven and 18, an age group Mphuti believes is eager to learn and naturally creative.

Looking ahead, Mphuti hopes to establish the Kids Sip and Print Experience as a recurring community programme that introduces more children to creativity, fashion, printing and entrepreneurship while inspiring future business owners and industry leaders.

To expand the initiative, she is seeking sponsorship for children’s T-shirts, printing materials, fabric paints, educational resources, meals, refreshments, certificates, photography and financial support.

Sponsors will receive brand visibility through event marketing material, social media recognition, logo placement, acknowledgement during events and an opportunity to support youth development and community empowerment.

Mphuti encouraged parents to enrol their children in future workshops, saying the sessions offer an exciting opportunity to learn, create, and build confidence while discovering the possibilities in the creative industry.
