Watch: Checkers Sixty60 driver does quarter mile on delivery bike

A video of a Checkers Sixty60 delivery bike partaking in a drag race is currently doing the rounds on the web.

South Africa has a rich and diverse drag racing culture. From 7-second 2JZ-powered Nissan Champs to an R35 GT-R with R2m spent on engine internals alone, there’s no shortage of vehicles ready to etch some rubber onto the tar of a quarter-mile drag strip, but a Checkers Sixty60 delivery bike is by far the most unexpected yet enthralling addition to SA’s drag racing scene.

A video is circulating the internet showcasing a Checkers Sixty60 delivery bike that was seemingly taken to what appears to be some drag strip. Already a brow-furrowing spectacle on its own, what makes this even more bewildering, this appeared to be a head-to-head drag race between this gutsy delivery driver and another biker that may or may not be another delivery driver.

Speaking under correction, it appears that both motorcyclists are driving a Yamaha or Vuka scooter of some sort as these are the common workhorses used by many delivery bikers. Nevertheless, this Sixty60 driver left it all on the strip and immediately set a sizable gap with the opponent.

Maybe a little too eager to get your order delivered to you at a moment’s notice, this delivery driver certainly has showcased their skill on the quarter mile and the capabilities of their two-wheeled chariot.
