Mighty Falcons dominate Real Barcelona with second-half masterclass in Kwa-Thema clash

After an exciting 2025/2026 season, Tec United and Young Stars United will battle for the Brakpan Local Football Association championship title and a place in the SAFA Regional Playoffs.

Kwa-Thema – Super teams Real Barcelona and Mighty Falcons recently delivered a strong game at the Kwa-Thema Sports Complex in the Springs Super League.

Might Falcons delivered a tight performance that secured a win in the second half.

The team secured a convincing 3-0 victory in the tough encounter, despite struggling to find their rhythm early in the match.

Coach Manqoba Mabuza admitted that his side had a difficult first half as they failed to combine well and rushed their play, resulting in a goalless scoreline at halftime.

“The first half was not good at all. We could not combine well because we were rushing things, so it ended 0-0,” said Mabuza.

The coach felt the team needed a player who could think quickly and control the tempo of the game.

In the second half, the introduction of experienced players proved to be the turning point as they changed the game in the Falcons’ favour.

“We only needed a thinker to control the tempo of the game. We added experienced players and they changed the game in our favour,” he explained.

The Falcons eventually found their rhythm and went on to score three unanswered goals to claim all three points.

Although pleased with the result, Mabuza believes there is still room for improvement, especially in the attacking department.

“Our forwards were not that good on the day. We need to work on finishing and movement at training,” he added.

“It was not an easy game, but our experience helped us on the day and we ended up winning 3-0.”

Real Barcelona coach could not be reached for comment.
