According to Springs police spokesman, Captain Johannes Ramphora, the girl was last seen around 7pm last Tuesday when she left her friends in a tavern in the CBD, saying that she was visiting her boyfriend in one of the blocks of flats in the CBD.
He says her body was found naked with chest injuries, scratch marks and throat cuts on a New Year’s Day in an open veld at Gugulethu/Everest informal settlement.
“The body was removed from the scene after the arrival of the police around 2:30pm,” says Capt Ramphora. No one has been arrested and the police urge anyone with the information that may lead to the suspect’s arrest to contact the Springs police station on 011 365 5700/ 19/ 20.
