According to Springs police spokesman, Captain Johannes Ramphora the girl disappeared after leaving her friends in a tavern in the CBD, saying that she was visiting her boyfreind in one of the blocks of flats in the CBD on December 31 around 7pm.
Capt Ramphora says the girl was found dead in an open veld in Gugulethu/Everest on New Year’s day. Her body was found naked with chest injuries, scratch marks and cuts to her throat.
The suspect was recently arrested after he was discharged from the Far East Rand Hospital where he was getting a treatment for the wounds on his lips after it is alleged that he was bitten by the deceased when she was trying to save herself from him. The suspect is expected to appear in the Springs Magistrate’s Court soon facing a murder charge.
