DA’s promises to Tsakane residents

DA national spokesman, Mmusi Maimane, was welcomed by revolutionary songs sung by Tsakane residents in Extension 10 informal settlement during his visit to that area on Tuesday.

Maimane’s visit to the Tsakane was to appeal for the community’s votes in the coming national elections before he toured the area to witness the residents’ living conditions.

He also shared with residents a few things that affect people living in informal settlements around the country that are included on the DA’s manifesto.

He said the DA is worried about poor living conditions experienced by people living in the informal settlements. Maimane promised residents that if they vote for the DA more jobs will be created to ensure that young people do not become victims of drugs.

He said he believes that criminal activities that happen every day are being committed by youth who live in poverty as the results of high unemployment rate.

He said if South Africans can put the DA in power, the party will ensure best education standards.

Given a chance to ask questions, one of the residents, Peter Msindo, asked what the DA will do for Ext 10 residents if they vote for the party.

Responding to Msindo’s question, Maimane promised residents that the DA will ensure that it opens business training opportunities for young people to assist them to open their own businesses.

“We will strive to deliver services to all people in the country and ensure that the process of awarding all government tenders to the bidders is transparent at all times,” he promised.

After touring the area and hearing about their challenges, Maimane promised that if the DA wins this year’s national elections the party will ensure best living conditions for everyone.
