According to Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora, the suspects who were driving a powder blue Hyundai, parked their car next to a white bakkie that they targeted to steal.
He says the security guards who were on duty noticed that the suspects were trying to break into the car and immediately acted against them.
Ramphora adds that false car registration numbers were found inside the suspects’ car as well as the tools that they use to start the engine of any kind of a car that they steal.
Two of the suspects are from Vosloorus while one suspect is from Katlehong. A case of attempted car theft was opened and they are expected to appear in the Springs Magistrate’s Court soon.
