House robbery in Everest

One of two victims sustained a minor injury during a house robbery in Gugulethu/Everest on Monday.

According to the Springs police spokesman, Captain Johannes Ramphora, the victim was fast asleep with his brother when two suspects knocked on the door demanding that they open it for them. He says before the victim could open the door, a shot was fired from outside, injuring his hand.

Ramphora adds that the two suspects who were wearing balaclavas stormed inside the shack, robbing the suspects of a bag that had an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene.

The victim was later taken to the Far East Rand Hospital for treatment. The police appeals for the community’s assistance in finding the suspects.If you know where they can be found, you should contact the Springs police on 011 365 5700.
