Dedicated educator dies

Staff at Tholulwazi Secondary School in Tsakane are still in shock after the death of their dedicated teacher.

Victor Ezekiel Mareshana Mkhabela was born in Payneville in 1965 and died on Sunday at his new home in KwaThema after a short illness.

He completed his diploma in teaching at the East Rand College and began his teaching career at Jabulile Secondary School in Natalspruit before moving to Tholulwazi Secondary School in 2005.

Mkhabela served as a dedicated teacher, specialising in mathematics, economics and accounting for Grade 10 to 12 learners.

Because of his love for mathematics, Mkhabela founded a maths awareness campaign movement with the aim of motivating learners to love maths and revealing to them the different careers and bursary opportunities for those who passed maths with flying colours.

He leaves behind his wife, Matshidiso and three children, Lebo, Tebogo and Gugu Mkhabela.

The funeral service will be held tomorrow at the Roman Catholic Church at Rapodile Street in KwaThema from 7am and the cortege will leave at 9am for Brakpan Cemetery.
