With the winter season already announcing its arrival, blankets were donated to 25 families on Saturday.
Monty Motloung Hall in Duduza, Zulu, hosted the hand over of the blankets, by members of Sonqoba Simunye Men’s Burial Club to beneficiaries.
Lungisa Kubeka Treasure said the event is part of the club’s annual seasonal events.
He said their objective is to contribute and play a role in the community.
The club sold raffle tickets as a way of raising funds to buy the blankets.
The event started with the announcement of the 14 winners from the tickets, who pocketed from R100 to R1 500.
Lungisa said the 94-member group wants to focus more on community development and empowering impoverished families.
