Church donates school uniforms

Church donated brand new school uniform to 30 learners

The KwaThema Central Methodist Church donated school uniforms to children at Michael Mkhwanazi Primary School last Thursday.

About 30 learners received brand new school uniforms to ensure that they have additional uniforms to keep them warm this winter.

Speaking on behalf of the school, principal Thami Mkhondwane thanked the church for the donation.

He explained that most of the learners in his school are from disadvantaged families.

“Most of them are from families where the only source of income is a child support grant,” said Mkhondwane, adding that the donation will make the learners look equal.

Issy Malepe from the church said because the church is part of the community, it is their responsibility to ensure that every child has a school uniform.

“We believe that education is the master key that will open the doors to a better life while closing a chapter of poverty,” said Malepe.

He concluded by encouraging the learners to focus on their studies.
