A surprise for learners
Matshediso LSEN received the donation from SHA on Monday Day.
The learners at Matshediso LSEN will be surprised to see what SHA Specialist Underwriters has done for them at their school.
The insurance company from Johannesburg has organised a surprise for the learners with special needs at Matshediso LSEN.
The company chose the Mandela Day as a perfect day to ensure that the learners do not stop smiling on their first day at school from the school holidays.
The jungle gyms were installed by the company at the school.
The company’s 65 staff members spent their 67 minutes cleaning the school inside the classrooms and the schools’ yard.
On Saturday the company also installed fencing around the playing area for the learners to separate it from the classrooms and the staff room’s blocks.
“No words can explain the joy that I have inside to see that there are companies that take care of the children with disabilities,” said principal Thapelo Tshetlo
He then challenged other companies to do their part in helping the needy communities.
The world might have lost Nelson Mandela, but his legacy and the heart of giving that he always preached about to the people around the world will live forever,” said Ed Jordan, executive head at SHA.
He said his company is happy to give back to the children who needed help to feel like all other children.
“Mandela Day is about giving back and putting a smile on someone’s face and that is what my company is doing today,” concluded Jordan.
