Kenny Majozee grabs the mike again
Matsoane Caine 'Kenny Majozee' Mashabela (41) is back after many years of taking a break from music.
The KwaThema’s Phomolo section-born star, Kenny Mojozee says he is ready for the stage to entertain his fans.
He studied at Fred Habede Primary School and Kenneth Kenneth Masikela Secondary School in KwaThema.
Kenny also studied introduction to TV presenting.
He started his music career 26 years ago as a singer and a keyboard player in the Shakandu band with Joe Nina in 1988.
In the music industry he also worked as backing vocalist for Brenda Fassie.
Because of the challenges that Kenny faced in the industry, he followed his other career.
Kenny is not a just a musician but a hairdresser, make-up artist and a fashion consultant.
After things did not go well for Kenny in music, he worked in a salon as a hairdresser.
Eleven years ago,while he was busy with a client’s hair, Dobs, a producer heard him singing and took him to a studio.
“I sang because music is my first love and I did not know that someone was listening and will be interested to take me back to the studio,” said an excited Kenny.
Adding that now he is busy promoting his four house music songs that he recently recorded.
He revealed that while he was still taking a break in performing, he was busy writing songs for other local artists.
“I have written many songs for the up-and-coming artists and now my turn has come to shine again on stage,” he said.
He says if things go according to his plan, he will be releasing a full album at the beginning of next year.
