Watch Enock on Roughing it out
Enock Kassim (12) from Tsakane Extension 12 says he believes that his talent for acting will make his future bright.
Growing up, Enock, a Grade Six learner at Dalpark Primary School, was a child who always watched TV and dreamed of being an actor one day.
His grandmother, Maria Khatide, said she noticed Enock’s love for acting when he was seven years old.
“He used to imitate the actors that he saw on TV and proudly say that one day the world will be watching him,” said an excited Khatide.
At the age of 12, Enock’s dream of being on TV was fulfilled after he was selected to be one of the participants on a new TV programme called Roughing it out season three on SABC2 that will expected to start on December 26.
The programme is a ground-breaking, new children’s environmentally-themed reality show.
To help him through his journey to be selected to take part in the show, Enock was coached by the Tsakane Youth Development Programme.
Pule Moloi, the organisation’s chairman, said Enock is the best young actor.
“I like the fact that he concentrates and loves his work and is always willing to learn when he is taught something new,” said Moloi, adding that he has no doubt that Enock’s acting talent will soon be recognised by the world.
“Taking part in the Roughing it out show will help me be the person that I want to be in the future,” said Enock.
He said that after being part of the show he hopes to learn more about how to read a compass, start a fire, live well with new people and experience the beauty of different amazing creatures.
