Drain blockage in Tsakane
There has been a blocked drain at Tsakane, Extension 13, Khumayilo Street since last year, October.
According to Resident Tshepiso Sebapu the municipal vans came in December to inspect the situation yet complained they could not fix the matter as there are no proper roads.
Sebupu explains they have reported the matter on numerous occasions yet nothing has been done to help them.
He says the smell is unhealthy for them as they might get infected by airborne diseases.
PR Councillor, Filis Masemola says her and Sebapu have been trying to get the municipality to resolve the issue of the over flowing sewage drain since late last year.
Masemola says residents are not supposed to the be living with the unbearable stench and germs emanating from the drain.
She says it is unacceptable the metro does not priorities issues which put people’s health at risk.
The metro had not responded by the time the article went to print.
