Students receive uniforms

Students from Tsakane Secondary School received uniforms from Twinplugs and the Tridays Project on Monday.

Chairperson of Twinplugs, Siboniso Sibiya says they donated the uniforms to disadvantaged students who have been identified at Tsakane Secondary School.

Sibiya explains their aim is to promote a positive attitude among students regarding education.

“A happy student is a productive one,” says Sibiya.

He adds some of the students have social challenges thus needing the support from the community and NGOs.

Educator and head of department of life orientation, Ditshego Phina, says she coordinates the School Based Support Team at Tsakane Secondary school which deals with students social issues.

She explains their team works hand in hand with various NGOs, “Twinplugs is one of the organisations we work with that help us with the challenges we face”.

According to Phina she took it upon herself to identify learners who who did not have full school uniforms.

She says with the help of all the school educators they received the names of those particular learners.

“We are thankful as a school that NGOs continue to donate at our school and we hope their efforts can be rewarded one day,” she concludes.
