PCF Ladies maintain momentum with 3-1 victory against USA Ladies
Strong teamwork and attacking intent helped PCF Ladies overcome USA Ladies in an entertaining SAFA Ekurhuleni Women’s Regional League match.
Tsakani’s PCF Ladies showed their impressive form with a well-earned victory of 3-1 over USA Ladies from Reiger Park on May 31 at Tsakani Stadium in the SAFA Ekurhuleni Women’s Regional League.
Speaking to African Reporter after the game, PCF’s chairperson, Nandipha Maqungo, said that she is proud of her ladies, but there is a lot of work needed to be done by her team.
She also said that her players created opportunities to score goals.
“For the next game, we will be working on communication between the ladies and ball control and passes. I think we should have ended the game with goals because they had opportunities,” shared Maqungo.
Maqungo said that momentum is built during training sessions and carried into matches, which enables the team to perform well on game day.

USA Ladies coach Dipuo Bodibe pointed to her side’s inability to maintain intensity for the full 90 minutes as a key challenge.
She said that lack of match fitness, limited training space and difficulties adapting to pitch conditions contributed to her team’s defeat against PCF Ladies.
“The pace that we used was not enough to play 90 minutes,” she said, adding that the team struggled to sustain their rhythm throughout the game.
Despite the setback, Bodibe praised her players for their effort and togetherness on the field. She said team spirit remained a central focus in keeping the squad motivated during the match.
“If we work together, it is what we are doing to keep up our stamina, our work together,” she said.

The coach also highlighted concerns around preparation, explaining that limited access to proper training facilities has affected the team’s readiness for competitive matches on well-maintained pitches.
“We don’t have enough space to train. Where we are training is gravel, and when we come to a pitch like this, we face most of the problems because we are not used to the same pitch that they are using,” Bodibe said.
Looking ahead, she said the team needs to strengthen its overall teamwork and build on communication and coordination, especially in attack.
“Teamwork is what we will be focusing on for the next game. If we work together, we will keep that momentum. At least today we scored one goal, and we need to score more goals next time,” she concluded.
