Residents chase away contractors

Residents of Langaviile Extension 10 chased away the contractor, preventing them from building toilets on their stands.

According to resident Lucas Hlatshwayo two officials who claimed to be from the mayor’s office came with contractors on Monday to build two combined toilets on one stand.

Hlatshwako explains the community is not fighting with the contractor yet they want the department of human settlements to help resolve the stand issue in the area and help with proper housing, roads, missing water connections and decent toilets.

Ward 81 councillor Mtumeleni Nditha says he is aware of what occurred on Monday and says this was due to the unresolved stand issues in Langaville.

According to Nditha mayor Mondli Gungubele will be addressing the community in the second week of April and will try to find a solution for the issues of Langaville.
