Duduza still waiting for a taxi rank

Mkhaza explains that residents continuously asked for a taxi rank in the area, and despite being promised one, they are still waiting.

According to the manager of the Duduza Customer Care Centre, Isaac Bangelizwe, the Ekurhuleni Metro has identified a site for the rank, which is awaiting approval from the Nigel Taxi Association.

He adds the project has also been budgeted for.

Bangelizwe explains the taxi association previously rejected two possible taxi rank sites identified by the metro, claiming the area did not fall under Duduza, and that it was too far from the local market.

The Nigel Taxi Association could not be reached for comment.
