‘My daughter’s story is false’

Duduza - Beauty Moloi (58), a resident of Pitsi Street, claims her mentally unstable daughter lied to a daily newspaper.

The false story was subsequently published in the paper.

It is alleged that Caroline Moloi (20) called the publication claiming she is tortured by supernatural genies.

Caroline claimed the genies steal her money and tell her bad things.

When journalists from the publication arrived at Beauty’s doorstep she was taken by surprise.

Beauty explained to the journalists that her daughter is not stable and they should not take anything she says seriously.

She claims the journalist continued to take down the story.

When one of Beauty’s friends, Shelia Mabuza (61) came to her on Tuesday morning with a copy of the daily paper, she was shocked to see the story.

“I thought they could see Caroline is not stable, everything she told them was false,” says Beauty.

She explained there are no genies tormenting her daughter and that Caroline receives her social grant money every month.

Beauty further expressed that her daughter has been through a lot of trauma, which has led to her current mental state.

According to Beauty, the fact that Caroline called a newspaper is evident that she needs professional help.

“Some days she seems okay, but other days she is not well at all,” says Beauty.

Caroline’s mother is displeased the publication printed the story after she explained the situation to them.
