Biyela to live in a clean house

Tsakane - The Twin Plug organisation cleaned Simson Biyela's (55) home in Tsakane Extension 13 on Saturday.

This was the organisation’s way of spending its 67 minutes for Mandela Day.

Biyela, who lives alone in his home, was grateful for what the young members of the organisation have done for him.

Despite being old, sick and struggling to walk, Biyela’s situation forces him to do everything for himself, including cleaning the house and cooking.

Speaking to the African Reporter about the help that he receives from the organisation, Biyela says he will forever remember the role played by the organisation to make his life better and comfortable.

“The organisation helps to clean my house, including the corners which I cannot reach when trying to do it on my own,” he says.

He motivates the organisation to continue lending a helping hand to all those who need it in the township.

Speaking on behalf of the Twin Plug, Siboniso Sibiya says that, after becoming aware of the situation in which Biyela lives, they saw the need to help him.

“Living in a dirty house can cause him to become sicker,” says Sibiya.

He adds that, to ensure that Biyela stays in a clean house, they will visit him twice a week to clean and help him with the washing of his clothes, and to ensure that he gets something to eat before taking his asthma medication.
