Helping those who can’t help themselves
KwaThema - The Caswell Stop Abuse Movement launched its Spring Day door-to-door campaign on September 1.
The campaign aims to assist members of the public who are vulnerable and do not have access to help.
“After finding an elderly woman who had been stabbed by one of her children last week, we noticed a lot of pensioners and children could not get access to the police or help,” says Caswell Gxowa, the founder of Caswell Stop Abuse Movement.
“Hence we started the door to door campaign, where we will give these vulnerable citizens the relevant contact numbers for them to report crimes committed against them.”
He adds that when they launched the initiative last week they also found there are houses around KwaThema that are selling drugs, and that is why they decided to join forces with the KwaThema police.
On September 7, the movement also embarked on another door-to-door venture.
