A convention to inspire women

Tsakane – Sechaba Advancements Foundation hosted a Women’s Networking Convention last Saturday at the Covenant Family Builders Centre in Tsakane.

According to the organisation’s director, Vusi Yende (36), women in the community need to be motivated to run their own businesses and encouraged to achieve anything they want in life.

“In many instances, women are always gathered to talk about the negative things that are happening in our communities, it is equally important that they meet to talk about economical growth and success,” says Yendi.

Women of all ages were invited to listen to fellow women who have made a success of their lives, in terms of career and business, and share their journey and secrets to achieving their goals.

The two main guest speakers were Apostle Duduzile Jele and Pastor Tessa Zulu who head up various programmes within their churches that assist

women to live their lives to their fullest potential.

Speaking on overcoming fear, Jele emphasised that women need to conquer their fears of failure, being judged and focus on their dreams and aspirations.

“It is now that women of our generation should walk fearlessly and do things that they were told they couldn’t do,” says Jele.

Nompumelelo Cindi (25), who attended the convention, says she learnt a lot about rebuilding herself as a woman and not allowing fear and

failure to set her back from trying again and achieving new things.

“Fear is the one thing that keeps most women from achieving their goals and having such prominent women share their stories of success really inspires us as young women,” says Cindi.
