Brother shot in face, killed

KwaThema – A 30-year-old male was shot dead at the Ekuthuleni informal settlement at about 7.55pm on Monday.

According to the police, the deceased was with his younger brother when the incident occurred in their shack.

“After the two brothers had come from visiting their father in Tsakane, they were sitting in their shack when a gunman barged in and called for the deceased by his name.

“As the deceased responded the suspect allegedly pulled out a firearm and fired the first two shots, but missed.

“The younger brother ran out and while he was outside he heard the last shot, which hit the deceased in his face,” says KwaThema police spokesman W/O David Mphali.

The suspect then fled the scene.

Mphali says the deceased was declared dead on the spot by paramedics.

He adds that this matter is concerning for police as they have had similar cases to this in the same area.
