Five vehicles land in KwaThema crash
KwaThema – Three drivers had to be taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment on Monday morning.
This came after five vehicles were involved in a collision at the intersection of Thema Road and Habedi Street at about 11.30am.
Although it is unclear how the accident occurred, it is believed the driver of a truck and the driver of a van were the ones who were involved in the head-on collision on Thema Road.
It is alleged that the truck driver then lost control of the vehicle, which turned and hit the front of a Hyundai Getz, which was standing at the robot on Habedi Street.
Due to the impact of the hit, the Getz then rolled into the Audi A3 behind it, which rolled into the third car.
Three of the drivers sustained injuries.
The intersection had to be closed off by law enforcement officers while scene was cleared.
The African Reporter sent questions to the EMPD regarding the accident, but at the time of publishing no official response or statement had been forthcoming.
