Suspect hands himself over to the police

Tsakane - A 43-year-old man has handed himself over to the police in connection with a murder, last Tuesday.

It is alleged the suspect got into a fight with the 33-year-old deceased in Xhosa Street in Tsakane.

Tsakane police spokeswoman, Lerato Mngomezulu, says the suspect alleges that he was stopped by the deceased and his friend while driving in the area.

“The two started attacking him and he pulled out his firearm and started shooting.

“The deceased was hit by one of the bullets,” she says.

Mngomzulu says the suspect left the scene and went to hand himself over to the police at the Tsakane Police Station.

“The motive of the attack is unknown.

“A case of murder has been opened for further investigation and the suspect will appear before the Springs Magistrate’s Court,” she says.
