The young and vibrant Izwi Lentsha Musical Experience

Izwi Lentsha Musical Experience wants to spread a message of hope and love through their harmonies.

KwaThema – Izwi Lentsha loosely translates into “the voice of the youth” and the youngsters who make up Izwi Lentsha Musical Experience are making waves through their music.

“We perform a variety of music styles, such as hip-hop, R&B, acapella and reggae,” says group member Rato Nxele.

Izwi Lentsha Musical Experience was established late last year when Rato and his friends, Bongani Mabena and Tebogo Mkhwanazi, joined forces with sisters Mpho and Princess Mampane.

The girls’ mother, Nonhlanhla Mampane, has since become the group’s manager.

Rato says their main objective is to rid the community of negativity by portraying love and peace with their musical talents.

Music provides an escape from the challenges of our daily lives.

“When we sing we are healed of everything that caused us pain in the past,” adds Princess.

“We perform in churches and at events and weddings in the hope of being discovered by people who might be able to help get us where we need to be,” says Rato.

They admit, just like any other group, they have their differences and sometimes they argue.

“But, at the end of the day, we are family.

“As long as we continue to love and respect each other we will be successful,” says Mpho.

The group is trying to get more bookings in order to raise enough money for studio time.

“We have our equipment and really want to build a studio,” says Rato.

They are also looking for sponsors to help with their outfits for performances and with transport.
