KwaThema – A man was arrested along the Mokgotla Street in Barcelona after a shooting in the area on Sunday afternoon.
It is alleged the victim who was shot on his upper body was also taken by paramedics to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
KwaThema police spokesman, Captain Thabo Sibuyi, says the suspect found at the scene alleged that he and the victim were fighting at about 3.30pm when the victim tried to disarm him.
“When he managed to get hold of his firearm, he cocked it and fired one round but the victim did not let go of him. He then shot the victim.
“The suspect was arrested and taken to the KwaThema SAPS.
“He appeared at the Springs Magistrates Court but the matter was remanded,” he says.
