Personal hygiene in the spot light

KwaThema - Brand ambassadors from a local personal care products manufacturer paid a visit to Tsimong Primary School last Wednesday.

Relebohile Matsemela from the company’s field sales department says their aim is to educate the young ones on personal hygiene.

“This is the right time to get them into the habit of washing their hands and being thoughtful of their hygiene.”

The team also intended to help the learners understand that personal hygiene does not have to cost an arm and a leg.

Zinhle Mathebula showed them how to use basic soap to get rid of bacteria.

“The product we are using has active silver formula which makes it hard for dirt and bacteria to stick onto the skin.

“Think of it this way, is it easier for something to stick on wood or metal?”

She also educates the learner about the health benefits of washing their hands.

“Although germs are not visible to the naked eye, they can make you really sick.

“You must always wash your hands before you eat, even if you don’t think your hands are dirty.”

Relebohile says they hope the learners will influence their parents to pay more attention to personal hygiene.

“When you are clean and smell fresh you are more likely to be confident at school.

“This is why it is important for the younger ones to get it right now.”

The representatives then gave the children products to maintain their personal hygiene at home.
