Two rob local tuckshop

KwaThema – Police needs the help of residents to track down two men who robbed a tuckshop along Romothibe street on Saturday evening.

It is alleged the complainant, Alemberham Abraha Batja (50), was offloading stock from his car when he was approached by the two armed suspects.

KwaThema police spokesperson Captain Thabo Sibuyi says the victim was with his sister and son when the men approached them.

“One of the suspects pulled out a gun and ordered them to lie down on the lawn.

“The other suspect walked into the store and took R9 000 in cash, airtime vouchers valued at R800, coins and Senas Batja’s (the owner’s son) passport.

“No shots were fired and no one was injured.

“We are calling on anyone with information to come forward to assist the police in tracing the suspects,” he says.
