WEB HEADLINE: Police urge residents to have more security in their homes
KwaThema – Police are urging residents to be extra careful and to always ensure their homes are secured before they leave.
This is in response to the increased house break-ins in the area.
KwaThema police spokesperson Captain Thabo Sibuyi said they have identified many of the cases received in recent months related to house robberies that the suspects gained entry through windows, especially those made of aluminium.
“Suspects take advantage of homes that do not have burglar bars and help themselves to valuables.
“The residents should install security burglar bars and gates and ensure that windows are always properly locked before they leave your homes.
“Also have thick curtains which will not expose your furniture at night,” he says.
