Duduza – Ten people were arrested for various crimes during a police operation over the weekend.

The crimes range from possession of drugs, including dagga to suspected stolen copper pipes.

 

This was part of the Buya Mthetho campaign which is aimed at ensuring the safety of the people within the country, diminishing opportunities for criminals to operate and restoring law and order.

Duduza police spokesperson Sergeant Harry Manaka says the police also carried out a raid at the KwaThema Hostel where dagga was seized in one of the rooms.

“We are working around the clock to sweep any criminal activities off the streets and keep the community safe.

“We cannot allow the residents to be held at ransom by the criminals.

“We are calling on residents to report any criminal activities in the community.
