Duduza police need your help to track down five suspects on the loose

“The owner of the tuckshop intervened, but suspects managed to flee the scene.”

Duduza – Duduza police are appealing to residents to help them with information that could lead to the arrest of five males wanted in connection with an armed robbery that took place on Saturday.

Duduza police spokesperson Sergeant Harry Manaka says it is alleged the 36-year-old complainant, Mbulelo Clement Nongogo, was robbed at gunpoint at a tuckshop in Madiba Street, Bluegum View, by five male suspects known to the victim.

“It is alleged the one man, known as Dlozi, pulled out a firearm and pointed it at the victim while trying to search him, but the victim managed to hit him with a beer bottle on his forehead.

“He was unfortunately overpowered by the accomplices, who were armed with knives.”

One of them, known as Mathatha, searched the victim and took R800.

“The owner of the tuckshop intervened, but the suspects managed to flee the scene,” explains Manaka.

Manaka adds the suspects are well-known to the victim, they are Mathata, Bongani, Scrap, Mabhekane and Dlozi.

“The suspects were traced by the police and are believed to be in Duduza.

“Any person with information on the whereabouts of these suspects can call Duduza SAPS on 011 730 4723 or 071 675 7027,” he says.
