KwaThema – Police are investigating a murder case after 16-year-old Mbali Mtshali was found shot dead in her home in Lindelani informal settlement on Saturday evening.
KwaThema police spokesperson Capt Thabo Sibuyi says earlier in the evening the deceased went to the local tavern to fetch her mother, Skhonzile Mtshali.
“Skhonzile told her she will walk home, so Mbali went back home to sleep.
“Her mother only went home in the early hours of the morning and found the door of their shack open. She found her daughter dead in bed.

“She screamed for help and the police were called to the scene. Mbali was declared dead on the scene by paramedics.
“She had a bullet wound in her left cheek through to the right side of her neck,” he further explains.
Sibuyi says there was no sign of forced entry or a struggle and the house was not ransacked Mbali was still dressed in her T-shirt and underwear.
“No one has been arrested.
“We call on residents with information that could help the police with the investigation to come forward,” adds Sibuyi.
