Police are investigating a case of business burglary after Pholong Secondary School was burgled last Friday.

KwaThema – Police are investigating a case of business burglary after Pholong Secondary School was burgled last Friday.

It is alleged the suspects gained entry through the classroom windows, stealing the learners’ stationery.

KwaThema police spokesperson, Captain Thabo Sibuyi, says the suspects stole the stationery from classrooms.

“The teacher, Xoliswa Mthembu, explained to the police that she locked her classroom and ensured all the windows were closed and locked the day before.

“In the morning, when she arrived, she found the doors and one of the windows wide open and the stationery locker wide open and the contents were stolen,” he explains.

A suspect was later identified by a community member selling the stolen stationery to a foreign-owned store.

Sibuyi says the suspect was arrested and detained and will appear before the Springs Magistrate’s Court soon.

“We appreciate the continuous help of the community by fighting crime and identifying the suspects,” he adds.
