Organisation to address issues revolving around gender-based violence

Caswell Stop Man Abuse Movement is an organisation which fights for the rights of women.

KwaThema – Caswell Stop Man Abuse Movement will host an event on November 1, at Mashila Park.

The aim of the event is to address challenges women and men face on a daily basis.

As part of creating awareness, they will be having a jumble sale on the day and the proceeds will go to early-childhood development organisations within Kwatsaduza.

Founder of the organisation Caswell Gxowa (54) says they are against the killing of women in the country.

“We would like for both men and women to attend so we can sit them down and talk about these issues.

“Women are killed every day due to jealous partners and so forth.

“We want to create peace among women and men, and we also need our youth to attend.

“We have seen the rapid increase in femicide and women abuse in this country.”

According to Gxowa, the clothes which will be on sale on the day are still new and will be sold at a cheaper cost.

He adds that the justice system needs to start prioritising such cases.

The event will run from 9am to 2pm.
