Swimming instructor and lifeguard Sabelo Gumbi says he is happy to see many young people in the area taking an interest in swimming.
“Through the years, we are seeing an increase in the number of children frequenting the pools.

“As we all know, the spring season does not only come with higher temperatures, but also heavy rainfalls.
“We have through the years seen in the media, especially the recent natural disaster in KZN, that people are unable to save themselves because they cannot swim.
“This can be avoided if children are encouraged to learn how to swim at the local swimming pools.
“As a township, we are privileged enough because we have our own swimming pools,” he says.
