Residents concerned over open power box

The power box has been left open since late last year and residents have been reporting it, but without any success.

Geluksdal – The community of Geluksdal Extension Two is concerned over an open power box which is situated opposite a park where children in the area play at.

The power box has been left open since late last year and residents have been reporting it, but without any success.

Concerned resident Thabo Zondo (52) says the power box is posing major risks for the children.

“It’s been a whole year now with this open power box and we do not know what else to do. We have been to the Tsakane Customer Care Centre to report the matter more than once but we are not being attended to.

The scary part is that this power box is right next to the park and children from our area come here and some play there without supervision,” says Zondo.

An open power box in Geluksdal poses a safety threat to the children in the area.

The power box is right next to his house.

“On Tuesday, I heard screams because there was smoke coming out of the open box.

“I am afraid of what might happen because when it rains the water might go in the box and we might be without electricity,” he adds.
