Businessman opens a new bakery in KwaThema
Cake Eats was officially launched on November 22 at Da Venue opposite KwaThema Hall.
KwaThema – Forty-year-old Siphiwe Thage is slowly making waves in the baking industry.
The self-proclaimed entrepreneur has turned his hobby into a success.
Cake Eats was officially launched on November 22 at Da Venue opposite KwaThema Hall.
Thage is a qualified FoodBev graduate and studied hospitality management.

“I started baking and experimenting with food at a very young age, and my love for it continues to grow each and every time.
“I used to do it as a side thing before I decided to fully embrace my love for cooking,” says Thage.
He has worked for numerous fast food franchises and says leaving a stable job to follow a passion is not always easy.
“Making the decision to leave my job and follow my heart wasn’t at all easy.
“I had those fears and self-doubt because I was comfortable with having a stable job and receiving a salary.
“But I decided to take a leap of faith and give it a go,” explains Thage.
He says for small businesses to grow, entrepreneurs need to learn how to take constructive criticism.

“Feedback is very important. I make time to review constructive criticism because it is like a mirror and that could be the thin line between failure and success.”
The new joint promises to satisfy the sweet tooth of residents.
Cake Eats has a variety of items on the menu, which residents are sure to enjoy.
They open every Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm.
