Bakery van driver shot and killed in Duduza
“As he walked back to the bakery van he saw two unknown black males with balaclavas covering their faces pointing firearms at the driver of the bakkie.
Duduza – Police are investigating a case of murder after a 25-year-old man was shot and killed during an attempted robbery in Masechaba on Tuesday.
Duduza police spokesperson Sgt Harry Manaka says according to a witness, Timothy Motlaleng, who was one of the crew of the bakery van, told the police that the deceased, Shahad Adnan, had just stopped at a tuck shop in Mayekiso Street, Masechaba.

“He got off the bakery van to enquire from the shopkeeper if they wanted stock of bread, while Adnan remained in the bakkie.
“As he walked back to the van he saw two unknown black males with balaclavas covering their faces pointing firearms at the driver of the bakkie.
“Immediately the van sped off and the two men with guns started firing shots randomly at the speeding van before fleeing the scene on foot along Jay Naidoo Street.”
Manaka adds the bakery van drove through a fence of a house in Mayekiso Street and damaged the fence.

“We suspect the motive of the shooting could be robbery and police are investigating a case of murder.
“We are appealing to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to come forward by calling the SAPS crime stop number on 0800 10111,” says Manaka.
