Resident offers a helping hand to those in need
Sizwe Khumalo wants to give back to his community.
Tsakane – Sizwe Khumalo (27) of Extension 16 wants to assist learners from disadvantaged backgrounds with brand-new school uniforms.
He says giving back to his community has always been his passion.
“The passion for giving back has always been there, I just never had the platform or opportunity.
“This year, I want to fulfil my passion which is why I decided to start this drive.
“I will be buying 10 learners new school shirts, trousers and socks,” he says.
He has partnered with Phumlani Primary School and his former school, Thuthukanisizwe Primary School.
“This initiative will be ongoing as I have teamed up with other people who are also willing to lend a helping hand.
“It is really sad to see children dropping out of school or not being able to go to school because they don’t have uniform.

“For now, we are starting with primary schools and look to venture into secondary schools as well, but on a later stage.”
He is appealing to the community to assist with donations as well.
“Together as a community we can ensure that every child goes to school in a proper uniform or that they have all the basic needs to go to school, if we only work together.
“Therefore, anyone who is willing to help is more than welcome to do so, we accept anything from school T-shirts, trousers, socks, jerseys, to shoes.
“Those who are willing to buy can also do so.”
