Springs Taxi Association says passengers to use taxis from taxi rank only

Springs – The Springs Taxi Association is appealing to passengers to only use taxis at the taxi rank.
This comes after the association has had problems with taxis operating in the CBD.

“There have been instances where the passengers have been robbed in these taxis or taken for a ride.
“Because these taxi are often not registered and are not operating from the taxi rank, they are hard to trace.
“We’re appealing to passengers to co-operate with us,” says Molo.

Molo says they have partnered with a private security company (High Risk Training) to help patrol, in unmarked cars, but their officers are wearing uniforms.
The operation started last Friday and will carry on indefinitely.
